Dana Sudman

DANA E. SUDMAN 57, of Mancelona, died on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Lakeview Lutheran Manor Nursing Home in Cadillac.

Dana was born on October 13, 1950 in Traverse City, the daughter of Elmer and Frances (Puckett) Evans.

Dana was a lifelong resident of Mancelona where she was active in the community. She was the Mancelona Village Clerk for 13 years, volunteered for the Mancelona Bass Festival, the Hat and Mitten program, and the White Pine Stampede, of which she was one of the founders 30 years ago.. She is best described as a positive ambassador for the village of Mancelona.

She enjoyed watching movies, shopping, bowling and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by a brother David (Deborah) Evans of Leroy, two nieces, Kimmaley (Scott) Burch of Interlochen, Kristy (Allan) Adsit of Coopersville, two great nieces Emmaley Burch, Piper Adsit, two great nephews, Cecil Burch, Evan Burch . Also surviving are two special cousins, Cecil Puckett of Mancelona, Mary Craanen of Trenton as well as several other cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will take place on Mon., August 25, 2008 at Two p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will take place on Sun., from 2-4 p.m. as well as 11:00 a.m. until the time of services on Mon.

Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids.
