Dale Mroz

Dale Edwin Mroz, 73, of Mancelona passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at his home in Mancelona. He was born on April 8, 1951, in Detroit, MI, the son of Edwin “Pete” and Anna (Niesluchowski) Mroz.

Dale graduated from Carl Brablec High School – now Roseville High School – in Roseville, Michigan. He spent the majority of his working life as an insurance adjuster traveling all over Michigan. He also sold Mac Tools and Snap-On Tools throughout Northern Michigan. He attended church at the Mancelona Baptist Church.

Dale loved to spend time with his family more than anything else in life and cherished any time he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren. He was happiest when everyone was gathered together. In his free time, his absolute favorite thing to do was go camping with his camper and toy hauler in tow. He had been to every state in the lower 48, but the Upper Peninsula had a special place in his heart. Throughout his travels for leisure and for work, he developed an amazing lay of the land and almost never needed a map or GPS to get where he needed to be.

Dale also liked to hop on his motorcycle and cruise around Northern Michigan with his friends, and he was a member of ABATE of Michigan, which is a club that promoted rider safety and awareness. Dale was a huge NASCAR fan, and always rooted for Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. He was a history buff as well and spent much of his time reading about it and watching documentaries to learn more. He was a John Deere enthusiast and enjoyed attending the Old Engine and Flywheelers shows each year as well.

Dale is survived by his four children, Jason (Stephanie) Mroz of Mancelona, Darren Mroz, Danielle (Robert) Burghardt of Bellaire, and Dawn (Travis) Brookes of Marion, OH; his sister, Cathy Michayluk of New Baltimore, MI; 10 grandchildren, Andrew, Morgan, Devyn, Karma, Solin, Bryten, Levi, Selah, Simon, and Anna; his fiancé, Sherrie Finch; and his beloved golden retriever, Jake.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother and best friend, Dean Mroz.
