Dale LaVanway

Dale LaVanway, 80 was born April 7th, 1932 to Elgin and Mae (Kenney) in Echo Twp., Antrim County and passed away with a heart attack on Tues. Sept. 25th in Alpena. He was a graduate of Central Lake High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1955. He worked for Fisher Body until he went to work for the State of Michigan. After retiring he moved back to the family homestead. Dale served 15 years on the Echo Township Board. He was a gentleman farmer and enjoyed watching football. He is survived by one sister Shirley (Lyle) Etcher, 4 brothers Virgil (Sharon), Richard, Robert (Jan), Randy (Laurie), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Donald and Dennis. Funeral services will be held Sat. Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Dave Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Dunsmore Cemetery, Echo Twp.
