Dale C. Beger, 89, of Bellaire, passed away on January 1, 2017 in McAllen, TX. Dale was born on December 1, 1927, in Flint, MI, the son of Irving and Florence (Priestly) Beger. Dale was a resident of Bellaire for over 20 years, was a long time member of St. Luke Catholic Church as well as a past member of the Bellaire Lions Club. He was a Detroit sports fan, especially Tiger baseball and Lions football, loved to play pinochle and served his country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by four children, Melanie (Dirk) Huttenga of DeWitt, MI, Cherie (Nick) Travis of Roseville, MI, Bill (Carol Danhof) Beger of Wyoming, MI, and Gary Beger of Kewadin. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Corey (Justin) Bahm, Ryan (Kate) Huttenga, Lucas Huttenga, Shawn, Aaron, Patrick, Matthew and Jeremy Beger. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, a son Robbie Beger, brother Don Beger, sister-in-law Renee Beger as well as his parents. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at St. Luke Catholic Church with Fr. Chet Collins officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire in the spring.
