D. ALAN CHILDS, 73, of Central Lake, passed away on July 15, 2013 at his home. Al was born on March 26, 1940, in Central Lake, the son of Wayne and Ruby (Young) Childs. Al was a lifelong resident of Central Lake and was employed by Harbor Industries in Charlevoix for many years. His greatest love was working on Cars and snowmobiles. He also had a large toy car collection that he cherished. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mary Jane Alexander. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 23 from 6-8 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. There will be no formal services. Private interment will take place alongside his parents in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Pet Crises Center, 3820 Ritt Rd., Bellaire, MI., 49615.
