Cynthia McCarthy

Cynthia Marie McCarthy, 58, of Mancelona, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at her home.  She was born on November 25, 1965, in Bay City, MI, the daughter of Richard and Janet (Rood) Brown.

Cindy graduated from Grayling High School, and went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree from Pheonix University.  She worked as a personal care aid at many nursing homes in Northern Michigan over the years, and most recently worked at Shanty Creek Resort.

Cindy loved her family above all else, and cherished every moment she spent with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed all kinds of craft projects; needlework, crocheting, diamond art, and everything in between.  She also liked to go on family adventures any chance she could.

Cindy is survived by her children, Kevin McCarthy of Grayling, Amanda (Trent) Rolls of Boyne Falls, and Britney (Charles) Gibson of Lewiston; her brother Rich (Suzy) Brown of Paw Paw; her sister, Brenda (Darik) Thayer of Lennon, MI; her father, Richard Brown; and four grandchildren, Dylan, Nirvana, Jasper, and Maverick.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Brown.

A celebration of life will take place in 2024.
