Craig D. Stewart, 52, of Charlevoix, died Monday, March 18, 2013 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey after a five-year battle with brain cancer.
He was born May 1, 1960 in Ferndale to David and Pauline (Reibel) Stewart.
On July 13, 2001, he married Maryse Verville in Charlevoix where they made their home.
Craig enjoyed working with computers, model airplanes, ham radios and other electronics. Occasionally he would set up communications with astronauts for the local school children.
Surviving are his wife Maryse; children Megan Stewart of Petoskey, Heather Stewart of Petoskey, and Jade Verville of Petoskey; a granddaughter, Victoria Brodin; his mother Pauline (Arthur) Morris of Ellsworth; brothers Keith Stewart of Ellsworth and Kevin (Julia) Stewart of Conway. He was preceded in death by his father, David B. Stewart on November 24, 1983.
Friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home in Ellsworth on Thursday, March 21, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Charlevoix with the Rev. Ken Bernthal officiating.
Burial will be in Ellsworth Cemetery.
