Clifton “Jr” Willson, 75, of Alden, passed away on June 6, 2017 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility.

Jr was born on September 19, 1941, in Echo Township, MI the son of Clifton and Phyllis (MacDonald) Willson.

Jr served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as a Medic during the Berlin Conflict.  He was a long time member of the American Legion Post 141 in Howell, MI, where he served as commander.

He enjoyed fishing as well as other sports, especially baseball.

He is survived by three children, Clifton III (Victoria) Willson of Rapid City, Elizabeth (Dan) Paxton of Nashville, TN, John (Suzette) Willson of Alden, 7 grandchildren, Adam, Annemarie, Emaly, Nicholas, Ashley, Brandon, Makenzie, 3 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers, Don (Marg) Willson of Chatham, MI, Ken (Sharon) Willson of Boyne City, Burt (Maxine) Willson of East Jordan, Wayne Willson of Bellaire and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jane Willson, two brothers, Bud and Paul Willson, a sister Arlene Hammond as well as his parents.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, June 12, 11:00 a.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.

Interment with military honors will follow in Clearwater Township Cemetery, Rapid City.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 11 from 1-3 p.m. also at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Lake Little League Baseball Program, 2295 Finkton Road, East Jordan, MI 49727.

Arrangements are being handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
