Clifford Gothrup

Clifford Wayne Gothrup , passed away January 9, 2016. Cliff was born on August 10, 1942 to John and Amanda (Schroeder) Gothrup in Alba, MI. He was one of 13 children. He graduated from Alba High School in 1960. Cliff served in the Air Force for 4 years and worked at Dura for 38 years before retiring in 2004. Cliff loved life, but most of all he loved his family. He loved to attend the sporting events his grandchildren participated in, loved riding and traveling on his motorbike, gardening, enjoyed spending his children's inheritance at the casino and just enjoyed being around people.

Cliff is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janet (Scholl) daughters Debbie (Doug) Derrer and Kindra (Rick) O'Dette, sisters Evelyn (Bill) Coger, Mary (Bud) Alexander, Margaret Smith, Louelle Meadows, Juanita Newkirk, Dennis Gothrup and his beloved grandchildren Dustin, Dakota, Dylan, Brandi, Paige and Cory. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents and many brothers and sisters.

A small graveyard service will be held in the spring . Memorials can be made to Mancelona HS Baseball, in c/o Mancelona Public Schools.
