Clarabelle Loper

Clarabelle F. Loper, 72 of Central Lake, died peacefully, Sat. Apr. 23, 2011 at Bortz Health Care in Petoskey. She was born Apr. 1, 1939, in Central Lake, the daughter of James "Bill" and Caroline (Hinton) Loper. Clarabelle lived her entire life in Central Lake. She was a Charter member of Torch Auxiliary 6985 of the 1970 membership. She was currently a member of the Emmet County Ladies Auxiliary Post 2051. Clarabelle owned and operated Loper's Beauty Shop for 40 years. She also worked for Old's Ambulance and Lifelink in the mid 1980's. She was also a dietary aid at Bortz Health Care, Petoskey from 1998-2008. Clarabelle enjoyed camping and crocheting and spending time with her daughter Caroline. She is survived by her daughter Caroline Loper of Central Lake and many cousins. She was preceded in death by sons Jim Loper in 1982 and Bill Loper in 1987, her parents and her brother Thomas C. Loper. Funeral services will be held Wed. Apr. 27, 2011, at Eleven a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Max Tracey officiating. The family will receive friends Tues. Apr. 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southern Cemetery.
