Clara Bogart

Clara Bogart, 95 of Charlevoix, passed away January 29, 2022 at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan.  Clara was born October 7, 1926 in Charlevoix, to Hiram and Hattie (Sitzema) Potter. 

On December 8, 1945 in Charlevoix, Clara married the late Carl Bogart.  Together they built, owned and operated three motels, The Colonial, The Archway, and The Villa Moderne all in Charlevoix.  They operated the motels seasonally and wintered in Florida.  She was a member of the Barnard United Methodist Church. 

Clara is survived by her sister-in-law Bertha Potter along with many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Garrett, Ernie, Agnes, Hiram, Jr., and Franklin. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 4th at 2:00 p.m. at the Barnard United Methodist Church with Pastor Craig Pahl officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Spring interment will take place in Brookside Cemetery, Charlevoix.
