Christopher "Paco" Eldrington, 38 of Central Lake, died Fri. May 16, 2014 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital. He was born Jan. 25, 1976, in Detroit, the son of Irene Salazar and James Eldrington. Paco was a standout athlete in high school, playing football, basketball and baseball. He graduated from Central Lake Public Schools in 1995 and served in the US Marine Corps. Paco spent many hours with his friends playing poker and golf. He was a diehard sports fan and loved to debate sports facts. Paco was loud, fun, and the life of every party. He loved children, especially his nephews. He is survived by his loving mother, Irene Paszkowski, sisters Shannon (Scott) Blechel, Amanda (Richard) Clark, Megan (George Fales) Paszkowski, Lisa Paszkowski, stepfather Kevin Paszkowski, uncles George (Callie) Salazar and Jose Salazar, aunt Francisca Brant, godmother Lisa Garcia and godmother Nancy Salas, nephews Xander Blechel, Zachary Clark, and many good friends! He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and uncle Art Brant. Funeral services will be held Sun. May 18, at 4 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Gary Bekkering officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
