Christian Dewey

On Feb. 24th, at 9:54 pm, Christian Julian Dewey lost his battle to cancer. He was born on Sept. 11th, 1939 to Floyd and Gladys Dewey of Bellaire. He spent the last 70 years living life to the fullest. He was an electrician as owner of D & R Electric, owner of Electric Cable Co., owner of the Bellaire Theater, and partial owner of the Bellaire Inn. He was most known for his 33 years of service for the Bellaire District Fire Department. The last 15 years he served as Chief. He retired from the department in June of 2009, but was still a major influence to most members. He will be greatly missed by the people he has known and by everyone who loved him. A memorial service for Chris will be held Friday, June 4th at 6 pm at Fairview Cemetery, Custer Twp., off M-88, by the Chain O' Lakes campground with Pastor Bruce Standfest officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
