Charlie Dann

CHARLES I. DANN, 92, of Mancelona, went to be with his Lord on October 28, 2010 at Munson Medical Center. Charlie was born on June 1, 1918 in Howard City, MI., the son of Ivan and Hilda (Johnson) Dann. Charlie and his wife Olga came to Mancelona in 1948 and have lived here ever since. Charlie was the Pastor at Mancelona Free Methodist Church for many years. He and Olga were known to the church kids as "Grandma and Grandpa Dann." He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and simply just being with his church family. On September 10, 1946 in Greenville, MI., he married Olga Bailey who survives. Also surviving are two children, Viva and James Dann both of Mancelona; several beloved grand and great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and a brother-in-law, Frank Bailey. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, six siblings, John Dann, Richard Dann, Dorothy Heald, Hazel Dann, Ruth Brandow and Esther Rhoads. Funeral services will take place on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Mancelona Free Methodist Church with Pastor Jerry Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday and Saturday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mancelona Free Methodist Church.
