Charles R. Markham, 50, of Mancelona, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 19, 1957, in Highland Park, the son of Charles and Sharon (Senkbeil) Markham. Chuck was a die hard Detroit Red Wings fan. Living in Mancelona for the last 27 years he enjoyed golfing, ice fishing, camping and bonfires. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Chuck worked for Advantage Sales and Marketing out of Texas. On September 27, 1986 in Mancelona, he married Ruthann Chambers who survives. Also surviving are three children; Charles (Michelle) Maidens of Mesick, Jeff and Michael Robbins both of Mancelona, daughter-in-law Laurie Robbins of Mancelona, one granddaughter; Summer Brook Robbins, nine sisters; Judy Steinhauer, Debra (Dan) Packer, Jackie (Jere) Madsen, Carolyn (Jim) Teachout, Linda (Paul) Evans, Sherrie (Doug) Bromley, Patty (Mike) Armstrong, Jane (Bill) Hinkle, Emily Markham and many nieces and nephews. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and son James Jay Robbins. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 26, at Two p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Dan Packer officiating. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 25, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
