Charles "Chuck" F. Kolin, 76, of Central Lake died, Friday, August 24, 2007 at Charlevoix Hospital. He was born September 22, 1930 the son of Lester and Anna (Beebe) Kolin in Royal Oak, Michigan. On May 21, 1955, in East Jordan, he married Margaret Ann Nemecek who survives. Chuck graduated from East Jordan High School and from the University of Michigan - Flint where he earned his associates degree in finance. Chuck served as the treasurer and General Manager for ELGA Credit Union in Flint from the mid 1950's until 1992 when he retired. He was the Chairman of the Board for the Michigan Credit Union League from 1987 until 1991 and a board member of the CUNA National Trade Association. Upon retiring in 1992, Chuck and his wife moved to Central Lake. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Jordan and also the Central Lake Lions Club. Along with his wife, Chuck is survived by his five children; Denise (Douglas) Ormerod of Otisville, Christopher (Lori) Kolin of Aurora, CO, Martha Ninichuk of Baltimore, MD, Katherine (Gregory) Dante of Rochester, Heather (Ray) Cannon of Ireland, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Michael in 1968, a son in law, Paul Ninichuk in 1997. A funeral mass will be held Monday, August 27, 2007, Ten a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Jordan with Fr. Jim Gardiner officiating. The family will receive friends, Sunday, August 26, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, East Jordan.
