Charles II

Charles W. Grube II, 74, of Bellaire, and formerly of Bay City, passed away suddenly on Tuesday June 11, 2013. Visitation will be held on Thurs. June 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held Fri. June 14, at Noon, at the Family of Faith Ministries Church of God, in Charlevoix with Pastor Michael Arp officiating. Prior to the service, visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Charles was born April 10, 1939 in Saginaw, MI, the son of Charles W.and Marjorie T. Grube. He graduated from Cranbrook Kingswood School in Bloomfield MI in 1957 and attended the University of Michigan. He married Linda A. Quigley in 1959 and they were married until her death in 2005. Charles was a founding member of the Mouthrop-Clift MCI Insurance group in Bay City and a lifetime member of the Bay City Elks Lodge. He also donated much of his time to community endeavors including coaching Little League and volunteer fundraising. Upon retirement in 2001 he moved to Bellaire to enjoy golf, fishing and boating. He became an active member of the Bellaire Rotary and enjoyed volunteering his time in the Bellaire community for various not-for-profit endeavors. On Jan. 28, 2006 in Charlevoix, he married Barbara Maltby, at the Family of Faith Ministries Church of God, where he became a member. His all around positive outlook on life and unconditional love were known by all who came into contact with him. He was always there to listen, share, and counsel all those in need of a friend. Charles is survived by his loving wife Barb of 7 years, his children Dana Grube, Gretchen Grube, Geoff (Mary) Grube, Marjorie Grube, sister Mary Mills, stepchildren Chris Maltby, Lori Fischer, grandchildren Daniel, Michael, Kelan, Clare, Zach, Mallory, Keagan, Kendall, and Karsyn and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife Linda. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Bellaire Rotary, PO BOX 923, Bellaire, MI 49615.
