Charles Burrell, 85, of Bellaire, passed away June 24th at home. He was born September 27, 1922 in West Frankfort, Illinois. He moved to Bellaire in 1978 from Ray, Michigan where he owned Burrell Well Digging. He held a well digging machine patent that made him proud. He was a man who never sat still; constantly building something, including his own home, even though he was blind. He loved to laugh and was a true prankster. He loved his family deeply especially his wife Gladys (Ahrens) of 62 years, who survives. He is also survived by his son Ronald (Melody) Burrell of Ray, Doris (Nevada) Harvey, Susan (Butch) Fillmore, Janice Francks all of Bellaire, Sandra (Brian) Williamson of Emmett. He was grandfather to 13, great grandfather to 35, and great great grandfather to 2. Also surviving him are special sister in law Evelyn (Ed) Underwood of Shelby, siblings Bill Burrell and MaryAllison of Fenton, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Daisy, siblings Jack Burrell, Treva Hicks and sister in law Jackie Ahrens, great granddaughter Alexis, great grandsons Brandon and Matthew, and great-great grandson Aidan. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Eleven a.m. at the Hope Luthern Church in Bellaire with Pastor Raymond Parent officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment will be in Eldred Cemetery, Kearney Township.
