Visitation:CECIL "CLARE" OLDS, 89, of Alba, died on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Munson Hospice House. Clare was born on March 6, 1920 in Elmira, the son of Clarence and Cecile (Ostrom) Olds. Clare grew up in Elmira and graduated from Alba High School in 1938. He served in the United States Air Force in World War II. Along with farming, Clare worked at Meadow Brook Hospital in Bellaire for many years. He retired in 1985 but continued working when they needed help. His special enjoyments included tinkering on the farm, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by a daughter Annette (Bruce) Bowen of Mancelona, two sons, Jason (Betty) Olds of Alba, Orlo (Connie) Olds of Grawn, a step-son Leonard (Linda) McHugh of Elmira, 9 grandchildren, Jason Olds of Elmira, Terra Land of Alba, Kira Olds of Grawn, Zachery Olds of King of Prussia, PA., Charlene Bowen of Traverse City, William Bowen of Mancelona, Len (Kelli) McHugh of Stevensville, Candee (David) Foster of Gaylord and Christina (Brent) Campbell of Mountain Green, UT. Also surviving are 12 great-grandchildren, Alex, Zeke, Camille, Megan, Morgan, and Masyn of Alba, Shane, Cade, and Ty of Gaylord, Jenna and Caitlyn of Stevensville and Connor of Mountain Green, UT. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia, his parents and two brothers Carl and Carroll. Funeral services will take place on Wed., June 24 at Eleven a.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Rev. Steve Weinberger will officiate. Interment will follow in Star Township Cemetery, Alba. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. also at the funeral home.
