Carroll Clark

Carroll R. Clark, 79, of Central Lake, died Mon. Oct. 12, 2009, at home. He was born Feb. 3, 1930, in East Jordan, the son of Mason W. and Margaret (Batterbee) Clark. On May 7, 1960, in Holt he married Lela May McPherson. Carroll was employed for many years at General Motors and upon his retirement in 1992 he and Lela moved to Central Lake. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Central Lake. Carroll enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He also enjoyed horses and farming. Carroll loved his family and loved spending time with them. He is survived by his wife Lela of 50 years, his children Carolyn (Denny) Caroll of Flushing, Paul Clark of Owosso, Cheryl (Harry) Trier of Houghton Lake, Robin (Floyd) Fifield of Holt, Mason (Tina) Clark of East Jordan, Doug (Theresa) Clark of Holt, Bud (Kris) Clark of St. Johns, brother Mason Clark of Niles, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Mark Jeffrey Clark, a brother Dale Clark and his parents. Memorial services will be held Friday, October 16, 2009 at One p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Central Lake, with Pastor Doug Jones officiating. A luncheon will follow. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Central Lake First Congregational Church, Parish Nurse Program. Arrangements have been handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
