Carolyn Stephens

Carolyn J. Stephens, 70, of Central Lake, died peacefully Mon. Dec. 5, 2011 at home. She was born June 21, 1941, in Elk Rapids, the daughter of Lucius and Madeline (Shaw) Antoine. Carolyn proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. She enjoyed watching Samantha and Levi play sports and reading books by Mary Higgins Clark. She also liked to watch Law & Order and CSI. Carolyn was a member of the Kewadin Indian Mission Church. She is survived by her children David and Lucius Antoine, her grandchildren Samantha, Levi, Cody, Jordan, Matthew, Pieter, Crystal, Eisha, Shalee, Andrew and Mark, brothers Steven, George, Leslie, sisters Theresa and Harriet. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Darlene. A celebration of life will be held Thurs. Dec. 8, at 3 p.m. at the Kewadin Indian Mission Church with Tom John officiating. The family will receive friends from Noon until 3 p.m. Interment will be in the spring. Arrangements have been handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
