Carol Koehler

Carol Ann Koehler, 77, of Mancelona, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire.  She was born on June 23, 1943 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Leo and Julia (Lorentz) Vahovick.

Carol graduated from Mancelona High School in 1961 and has been a resident of the area ever since.  She enjoyed cooking and baking (especially birthday cakes for her family), bird watching, and going to carnivals and fairs.  She liked to listen to Hank Williams Sr. and anything from the Grand Ole Opry.  Carol was a longtime member at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona where she also served on the Lady’s Guild.

Carol is survived by her two children, Jacqueline Koehler of Mancelona, and Jesse Koehler of Mancelona; and her sister, Judy Vahovick of Grand Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Julia Vahovick; her brother and sister-in-law, Leo (Arlene) Vahovick Jr.; and infant sister, Sylvia Vahovick.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona.  Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. also at the church.  There will also be a time for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church.
