Carol "Irene" Cellner

Carol “Irene” Cellner of Charlevoix passed away December 1, 2023 after 97 wonderful years of life.  She was born October 7, 1926 in Wolverine the daughter of James and Veda (Wesson) Sutliff. 

Irene was a proud graduate of Boyne City High School but spent most of her life on the family farm on Ferry Road in Charlevoix.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers (especially roses), being a farm wife, and bowling. 

Left to cherish her memory are her family members that she loved dearly; children Judy (William) Goldsmith of Petoskey, Sandy (David) Jeltema of Rockford, Laurie Cellner of Ann Arbor, brother Robert Sutliff of East Jordan, grandchildren Matthew, Adam, David, Brett, Erin, and 8 great-grandchildren.  Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Franklin, brothers James, Mervin, Jack, and sister Betty Massey.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Enos Bacon Officiating at Brookside Cemetery, Charlevoix.

Memorial contributions can be given to the Care Team Hospice or the Hospice of the family’s choice.
