Carl Mehlberg

Carl E. Mehlberg, 77, of Mancelona, passed away May 3, 2013 at his home. Carl was born in Mancelona on March 5, 1936, the son of Grant and Eda Vernen. Carl loved the outdoors and spending time with family. He enjoyed exercising and watching sports. He is survived by three children, Nancy (Frank) Hogarth of Traverse City, Carl Grody of Mancelona and Elaine (Paul) Panasso of Gaylord; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Diane Mehlberg and several brothers and sisters. A Memorial Service will be Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Gerald Cook officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of services. Carl's ashes will be buried with his mother at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
