Calvin Carpenter

Calvin W. Carpenter, 80, formerly of Central Lake, died Fri. Jan. 8, 2016 in Wyoming, MI. He was born Nov. 29, 1935 in Ellsworth the son of Art and Nellie (Fales) Carpenter. Calvin enjoyed preaching at Whiskey Creek and with the Jail ministry. He also enjoyed camping and the great outdoors. He was an avid Detroit Tigers and Lions fan too. Surviving Calvin are his children Calvin Jr. (Mary) Carpenter of Hopkins, Michael Carpenter of Holland, Ann Carpenter of Hopkins, sister Peggy Waffle (Bill Clark) of Cedar, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, his parents, his brothers Doyle and Bill, and his sister Gloria. Funeral services will be held Mon. Jan. 11 at 2pm at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with visitation starting at Noon. Interment will follow in Southern Cemetery.
