Brian R. Peacock, 45, of Kalkaska, passed away on December 27, 2020 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Brian was born on July 2, 1975, in Traverse City, the son of James and Joan (Isenga) Peacock.
He was a graduate of Traverse City Central High School in 1992, Northwestern College Police Academy in 1995, as well as earning a Bachelor Degree from Spring Arbor University.
He was in law enforcement for 24 years, mostly with the Kalkaska County and City departments. He loved spending time with his son David and especially following his hockey. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. Brian was a selfless, “old Soul” who enjoyed history as well as trains. He loved many outdoor activities such as ATV’s of all kinds, snowmobiles, motorcycles, boating and going on trips with friends and family.
In June of 2006, he married Patty Smith who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Anthony Peacock of KY, David Peacock of Kalkaska, his parents, James (Joan) Peacock of Williamsburg, 2 brothers, Daniel (Wendy) Peacock of Grand Rapids, MI, Michael Peacock of Kingsley, his in-laws, David (Susan) Smith of Bellaire, his adopted daughter Savannah Rogers of Paris, MI as well as several nieces and nephews and countless close friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Jennie Isenga and paternal grandparents, Edward and Doris Peacock.
Viewing will be on Saturday, January 2 from 5-8 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
Funeral services will take place on Sunday, January 3 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Free Methodist Church.
Burial will be in the spring in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
