Bonnie Moore

Bonnie Sue Moore passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Bonnie was a woman of immense love and compassion. Her life's work was as a social worker where she touched countless lives in immeasurable ways. Bonnie dedicated herself to helping those in need and advocating for all members of society. Bonnie’s impact extended far beyond her professional career; she brought warmth and kindness into every interaction with friends and strangers alike.

Bonnie was known for being an unwavering source of support for her family. She cherished spending time with them more than anything else in the world. Whether it was cheering from the sidelines at soccer games or sharing laughter around the dinner table during holidays—her presence filled every moment with love. Bonnie's family describe her as their "ride or die," always there to offer guidance or simply share a comforting hug when it was needed most. Bonnie's nurturing spirit extended not only to her children but also to anyone lucky enough to cross paths with her. In addition to being an incredible mother figure for many people throughout her life's journey, Bonnie also had an adventurous side that led her through various experiences traveling.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband Lenny Moore; her children’s father John Pilat and daughters, Nicole Pilat and Rachel Day (Andrew D'Agostino), as well as her son-in-law Justin Shelvin, and the grandchildren who were her pride and joy: Amiya Shelvin, Jaquori Shelvin, William Brown, Kodah Pilat-Fite, Nayeli Pilat-Fite, Luca D’Agostino, and one more bundle of joy due to arrive in January. Bonnie is also survived by her sister Amy Alberts and nephew Jake Alberts, as well as her large extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, William Alberts and Rebekah Williams. Bonnie is reunited with daughter Jessica Shelvin who has also recently passed.

A celebration of Bonnie’s extraordinary life will be held at Oscoda Indian Mission in Mikado, Michigan on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome to join in honoring this remarkable woman whose light continues to shine brightly within our hearts.

Arrangements are in the care of the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  Please sign her online guestbook at www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com
