Bina Maxine Wilson, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility on May 22, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Bina was born on February 22, 1918, in Muskegon, MI, the daughter of Freeman and Katherine (Burton) Gooden. Bina worked at Meadow Brook for 13 years and was in the Senior Companion Program through the Commission on Aging for 12 years. While in the program, she made many friends and kept busy sharing time with her clients. Time spent with her family was very special to her. She loved to bake brownies and chocolate chip cookies for them to enjoy. Over the years Bina enjoyed crocheting, dancing, sewing and bowling. Bina was married to Archie Wilson for 31 years and together they had five children, a son and four daughters. She is survived by four daughters, Phylis (Jack) McKay of Bellaire, Joyce (Jim) Burgess of Hubbard Lake, Sandy (Mike) Arsnoe of Bellaire, Diane and (Brian) Lirones of Traverse City. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Caryn (Bob) Jacobs, Kimberly (Mark) Eickhoff, Leslie (Michael) Townsend, Gregory Walden, Tony (Kathy) Walden, Shelly (Mitch) Meeder, Cory Arsnoe and his special friend KerriAnn, Dusty (Isis) Arsnoe, Jeff (Mary) Wilson, Drew (Terri) Wilson, 23 great-grandchildren, Erin, Matthew, Adam, David, Tricia, Alex, Brandon, Caitlyn, Jenna, Alex, Jeanne, Will, Fraser, Chase, Paige, Jax, Ian, Allison, Freddie and Charlie, Sarah, Kirstin, and Mackenzie, 6 great-great-grandchildren, Connor, Sean, Ewan, Roan, Neil and Hailey, a daughter-in-law Connie (Vern) Lamb, sister-in-law Betty Gooden, special niece Yvonne Banninger (Bruce), Vern Walden , and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Freeman and Katherine Gooden, a son Vernon, grandson Christopher Walden, sisters Emily Gooden, Vilma (Evold) Peterson, and brothers, Robert (Zella) Gooden and Gerald (Betty) Gooden. Bina felt fortunate to have been a resident of Meadow Brook, and appreciated the kind and thoughtful care she got from the staff. While at Meadow Brook she enjoyed many activities with Bingo and Kickball being her favorites. She considered the staff at Meadow Brook her "special family". A memorial luncheon will take place on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kearney Township Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility.
