Beverly M. Willson, 64, of Central Lake, passed away on May 7, 2013 at McLaren-Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in Petoskey. Bev was born on November 28, 1948, in Alden, the daughter of Sebe and Leila (Crothers) Patton. Bev was employed by Central Lake Public Schools for 30 years as the Elementary School secretary. She enjoyed gardening, riding the pontoon boat and especially enjoyed traveling all over northern Michigan watching her grandchildren play sports. The center of Bev's life was God, her husband and her children. She was a devoted wife and mother and she gave so much love. She touched the lives of many young students over the years she worked at the school and helped those students to be better people. On June 27, 1987, in Pleasant Valley, she married Dean T. Willson who survives. Also surviving are children, Al (Lisa) Becker of Central Lake, Lory (Tim) Shafer of Central Lake, step-children Trisha (Mike) Brisbois of Gainsville, GA., Dean Jr. (Krista) Willson of Central Lake, Bill (Becky) Willson of East Jordan, grandchildren Jordan and Kara Becker of Central Lake, Zach and Alexa Shafer of Central Lake, step-grandchildren Ben and Kellsie Brisbois of Gainsville, GA., Dean III, Brian and Kendra Willson of Central Lake, Kaiya and D.J. Willson of East Jordan, a brother Ken (Nancy) Patton of Central Lake, a sister Barb (Pete) Gelatt of Sears, MI., and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grace Community Church in Central Lake. Her brother-in-law Pastor Pete Gelatt will officiate. Interment will be private in Southern Cemetery following services. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
