BETTY THORNBURG

BETTY "FOLSOM" THORNBURG, 85, of Echo Township, died on January 28, 2012 at Munson Medical Center. Betty was born on October 9, 1926 in Echo Township, the daughter of Russell and Cecile (Bradshaw) Fisher. Betty was a lifelong resident of Echo Township and was an active, lifetime member of the Pleasant Valley Free Methodist Church. She worked at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility, Texas Instruments and was a senior Companion in Antrim County. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, doing word searches and bird watching. She is survived by 3 children, Thelma "Folsom" Craig of Orlando, Fla., Mark (Darlene) Folsom of East Jordan, Paul Folsom of East Jordan, 2 step-daughters, Arlene and Suzie, 2 granddaughters, Kate Folsom of East Jordan, Michelle (Nic) Dawson of Columbus, GA., 3 sisters, Ella Burns of Central Lake, Dorothy (Wayne) Franke of Holly, MI., Evelyn (Bill) Derenzy of Central Lake and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Robert Folsom and her second husband Russell Thornburg. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Pastor Dave Scott will officiate. Interment will be in the Spring in Dunsmore Cemetery, Echo Township. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. also at the Funeral Home.
