Betty Scholl

BETTY M. SCHOLL, 72, of Mancelona, died on May 7, 2010 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Betty was born on February 8, 1938 in Custer Township, Michigan, the daughter of Leonard and Velma (Wiederhold) Stradinger. Betty was a lifelong resident of Mancelona where she was a member of the Mancelona Church of the Nazarene, volunteered at the Community Lighthouse Food Pantry and worked for many years at the Mancelona Ceramic Shop. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting and birdwatching. On October 22, 1955, in Mancelona, she married August Scholl who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were a brother Richard "Dicky" Stradinger and her parents. She is survived by 4 children, Randolph (Gerri) Scholl of Dallas, TX., Jacqueline (Leathel) McCarty of Mancelona, Jeffery Scholl of Mancelona, Rhonda (Chuck) Mielke of Newaygo, a brother, Thomas (Diane) Stradinger of Kentwood, 2 sisters, Dorothy (Reno) Lane of East Jordan, Joan Mattson of Grand Rapids, 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Tues., May 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Pastor Ross Corne and Louis Scholl will officiate. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona. Visitation will take place on Mon. from 5-8 p.m. also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
