Betty Ann Glasgow

Betty Ann Glasgow, 87, of Central Lake, passed away on March 3, 2024, at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility.

She was born on January 20, 1937, in Central Lake, the daughter of Carlton and Edna (McDowell) Meggison.

Betty worked for the Central Lake Public Schools as the counselor’s secretary for over 20 years. While there, she volunteered at the boy's baseball concession stand and followed her 3 sons’ sporting events throughout their high school careers.  

She attended the Eastport Baptist Church and loved spending time with her numerous friends, from her walks for fitness in her earlier days to her time at the pool in East Jordan and the senior luncheons in more recent times.

She volunteered at the Reed City Public Schools where her grandson Bryce attended and became lovingly known as “Grandma Betty” to the children.

Surviving are 3 sons, Brent (Michelle) Glasgow of Paris, MI, Bruce Glasgow of Ypsilanti, MI, Brad Glasgow of Central Lake, stepson Gene (Marsha) Glasgow of Davisburg, MI, stepdaughter Marie Ann (Rocko) Mutone of Toms River, NJ, a brother Robert Meggison of Central Lake, 7 grandchildren, Bryce, Gene S., Jennifer, Alex, Andrew, Anna and Lauren.

Preceding her in death were a stepson Russell Glasgow, 2 sisters, Alice Edwards, Mildred Blackwell, her parents and many other extended family members.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 12, at 11:00 a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Nathan Crawford officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, March 11 from 6-8 p.m. also at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Township.
