Bernice Orman

Bernice Shirley Orman, 87, of Mancelona passed away July 10, 2014 at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Long Term Care. On November 22, 1926 she was born in Rockford, MI, the daughter of the late William and Bernice (Stout) Morningstar. She loved gardening and growing flowers. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing word puzzles and watching Jeopardy. Her pride and joy was spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Orman; brothers, Ralph and Jim Morningstar; sisters, Janice Tingley, Catherine Scholl, Wilma Hughes, Linda VanHoose, Gertrude DePeel, Joan Carlson, and Joyce Spencer; grandchildren, Michael Schepperly and Jacqueline Pridgeon; great-grandchildren, Dillon and Christopher Schepperly; great-grand granddaughter, Adria. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Orman in 2007; parents, William and Bernice Morningstar; brothers, Bill and Grant Morningstar, and sister, Pat Tipton. Memorial services celebrating Shirley's life will be Monday, July 14, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Ross Corne officiating. The Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
