Benny Schram

Benny A. Schram, 73, lifelong resident of Mancelona, died Nov. 23, 2016 at home. He was born Jan. 27, 1943 in Custer Twp, the son of John and Ella (Cuppes) Schram. Benny was a member of the Mancelona Free Methodist Church and the Mancelona Moose Lodge. He enjoyed camping, farming, and Sunday drives. He loved country music and was known as "Mr. Fix It", fixing anything and everything. On May 18, 1963 he married the love of his life, Dorothy Wilson, who survives. Also surviving are his children Michael Schram of Miami, FL, Clarissa (Ron) Short of Mancelona, Benny (Jodi Ryan) Schram of Mancelona, Fefe (Kent)Schram Brenneke of Woodburn, IN, Jessica (Dennis) Wagner of Elk Rapids, siblings John Schram, Art Schram, Jerry (Kathy) Schram, Steve (Diana) Schram, Stoney (Kathy) Schram, Dorothy Istratoff, Bonnie (Roger) Scholl, Nellie (Everett) Homan, Judy (Barry) Bowhall, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Mon. Nov. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Mancelona Free Methodist Church with Pastor Jerry Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
