Bela Albert Brandl, 71, of Farmington Hills, passed on February 22, 2021 at home. He was born January 27,1950 in Detroit as the son of Ben and Emma Ruth (Lockhart) Brandl.
Bela attended Kimball High School, then went on to join the United States Marine Corps. He then attended Northwestern Michigan College and the Center for Creative Studies (CCS). He found his niche in clay modeling, later retiring from General Motors as a Senior Clay Sculptor. He thrived in many artistic pursuits and he enjoyed cars, movie history, and had a terrific sense of humor that made everyone smile, even strangers.
Surviving are his children Joshua Bela Brandl, Brooke Alicia Brandl, Lauren Bailey Gilliatt, grandchildren Robert Lincoln Gilliatt, Stone Bela Michael Bugar, brother Joseph Brandl, mother of his children Suzanne Brandl, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Carol Brandl and brother James Brandl.
Graveside services will be held in the spring and he will be laid to rest beside his wife Linda in Lakeview Cemetery, Torch Lake Township, MI.
