Barbara J. Spangenberg, 79, of Williamsburg, MI, passed away on Jan. 2, 2016 at Munson Medical Center. Barbara was born on April 23, 1936, in Mancelona, the daughter of Harold and Dorothy (Epperson) Andersen. Barbara enjoyed her family to the fullest, and that was the most important part of her life. She enjoyed gardening, playing board games, traveling and volunteering for various organizations. The organizations she spent many hours volunteering for were, ACTS (Acme Christian Thrift Store), Musicale in Traverse City and Samels Family Heritage Society in Williamsburg. Prior to moving to Williamsburg, she spent many years as an Administrator at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and Office Manager with Sportopedics also in Royal Oak. She is survived by her husband Philip Spangenberg of Williamsburg, 3 children, Rhonda (Larry) Kastl of Midland, MI, Brian Lee of Royal Oak, MI, Brenda (Dave) Pike of Berkley, MI, a son-in-law Al Cirilli of Troy, a step-son, Jeff (Jennie) Spangenberg of San Francisco, CA, a brother Harold (Mag) Andersen of Mancelona, 2 sisters, Sharon Homan of Mancelona, Glenda (Jim) Rademacher of Wilson, MI, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Edward R. Lee as well as a daughter Sharon Cirilli. Memorial services will take place on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at noon at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Pastor Todd Shafer will officiate. Visitation will be on Tues. from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at noon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
