Barbara Rarey

Barbara Lee Rarey, 88, of Central Lake, died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Boardman Lake Glens, Traverse City. She was born July 7, 1922 in Detroit, the daughter of Ivor and Ester (Philipp) Lee. Barbara grew up in Royal Oak. On July 15, 1944 in Royal Oak, she married Robert, and moved to Birmingham. In 1985 they retired to their home in Central Lake. Barbara loved spending time on Torch Lake. She is survived by her husband Robert, her children Lee (Leonard) Carleton of Bloomfield Hills, and Nancy (Dennis) Richardson of Central Lake, grandchildren Robert (Lisa) Carleton of Troy, Carolyn (Art) Leo of Birmingham, and Matt (Lisa) Brown of Grand Rapids, 5 great grandchildren and sisters Nancy Crisler of Bloomfield Hills, and Carolyn Roesner of Traverse City. She was preceded in death by her parents. No services are planned at this time.
