Barbara Long

Barbara A. Long, 65, of Bellaire, passed away on June 11, 2017 at Munson Hospice House.

Barb was born on November 8, 1951, in Dearborn, MI, the daughter of Wilfred and Frances (Hutchison) Garbutt.

Barb resided in Holland for many years prior to moving to Bellaire upon retirement in 2011.  While in Holland, for over 15 years, she was employed by Family Fare.

Barb enjoyed quilting, reading romance novels, golfing and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren.

She attended the Bellaire Community United Methodist Church and golfed with a group of friends every week at the Farm Golf Course.

On November 6, 1971, in Garden City, MI, she married Gregory F. Long who survives.  Also surviving are three daughters, Pamela (Jamie) Dykema of Holland, MI, Amy Long (Keith Watson) of Asheville, NC, Erin Long of Holland, MI, four grandchildren, Macey, Ellie and Brady Dykema, Lila Watson, three brothers, Dave (Annette) Garbutt, Mike (Renee) Garbutt, Dan (Laurie) Garbutt all of Livonia and a sister, Sharon (Mike) Diedrich of Dearborn, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bellaire Community United Methodist Church with Pastor Eric Falker officiating.  Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of services at church.

Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date in Holland, MI.

Memorial contributions may be made to Munson Hospice House.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
