Barbara Jean Hierlihy King died Saturday, December 26th, 2015 at MeadowBrook Medical Care Facility in the arms of her loving daughters.

Barb was born November 6th, 1935 in Bellaire, Michigan, the daughter of Emeril and Lillian Hierlihy. She graduated from Bellaire High School. Following graduation, Barb worked as a secretary at Lamina. She met and married Charles King on August 10th, 1957. Upon her marriage, she moved away for a time. In 1970,upon the death of her father, she returned to Bellaire to live and help her mother run the family store. Over the years that she lived in Bellaire, Barb worked at Hierlihy's Store, Schuss Mountain, Valley View Pharmacy and Ruthie's. Barb was one of the original members of the Bellaire Historical Museum. She loved gathering articles and information about the early years in Bellaire. She enjoyed working there and sharing memories of early Bellaire with visitors to the museum.

Barb also enjoyed working in her garden, walks in the woods and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Chuck on April 12, 2015. She is survived by her children Annette (Ivan) Kroupa, and Mary Ann King, her grandchildren Jeff, Alex (Cassie), Amanda and Patrick, and great granddaughter Noelle. She is also survived by her brother William Hierlihy of Zephyrhills, Florida, and many nieces , nephews and cousins.

There will be a private family graveside service in the Spring. Memorials can be directed to the Bellaire Historical Museum, PO BOX 646, Bellaire, MI 49615.

I see her smile in the sunshine___

Her tears in the falling rain___

She calls to me on the winds soft song___

And when flowers bloom she's here again___
