Barbara Kay Jensen, 74, of Charlevoix passed away on December 25, 2017 at her home and was blessed to meet Jesus on Christmas Day.

Barbara was born on December 15, 1943 in Saginaw to the late Robert and Marion (Prinz) Reynolds. Barbara graduated from Arthur Hill High School then graduated from Delta Community College as a Registered Nurse. She worked as a nurse for many years in different hospitals. After moving to Charlevoix and working at the Hospital for a short time she became the director of the nursing department. Later she worked as a home health nurse with the state health department.

Barbara was always active in her church and was a member of the Community Reformed Church where she was a Stephen’s Minister. She served on the Rainbow Shoppe Board for 32 years and 27 years as their treasurer. Barbara and Jim were active with Keryx Prison Ministry with Barbara often cooking meals for the 40 volunteers that served on the team.

On May 20, 1961, Barbara married Richard “Dick” Rogers who preceded her in death.

Barbara married Jim Jensen on March 5, 1994 who survives. She is also survived by her children, Julia (Mark) Schaberg, Marty (Kim) Jensen, Vicki (Dave) Koteskey, Sherry Jensen, Dan (Cindy) Jensen, Debbie (Julian) Hernandez; 19 grandchildren, Margaret, Gabby and Dylan Jensen, Kevin (Kate) Schaberg, Shelly (Brian) Horman, Rebekah (Florian) Schaberg, Drew Seymour, Megan (Ivan) Dankert, Matt Dankert, Katie (Jessie) Motto, Cassidy, Danny and Sophie Jensen, Nicole, Tony, Faith and Hope Hernandez; 7 great grandchildren and sister, Betty (Jerry) Finner.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Community Reformed Church in Charlevoix with Pastor Chip Sauer officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Winchester Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will also be held 1 hour prior to services on Sunday at the church.
