Barbara Conway

Barbara J. Conway, 78 of Mancelona passed away November 2, 2013 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility surrounded by her family. She was born May 3, 1935 in Traverse City, the daughter of Robert and Lucile Culbertson. Barb lived in Manitou Beach and later moved back to Mancelona where she married Bill in 1978. Barb had a sharp mind and great wit. She was a very feisty lady and never failed to let you know how you stood. She loved God and always prayed for other people and causes. Bill and Barb shared many winters together in Florida until she became too sick to go. She loved going to the operas and stage plays at Tampa Art Center. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill; two sons, David and Curtis Wilks; step-son, Bill Conway Jr; several grand and great-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Karen) Scadin; and sister, Sally (Loyd) Beebe. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Pamela Allen and two aunts, Ruth and Josephine Culbertson. Services will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. also at the funeral home. The burial will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery.
