Babara Learned

BARBARA JUNE LEARNED age 45, loving mother of Patrick, passed away peacefully at her home in Bellaire on December 6, 2007. Barb was born on June 12, 1962 at Meadow Brook Hospital in Bellaire, the daughter of Lawrence D. and Shirley A. (Higgbee). In August of 1981 at the sand bar at Torch River Barb was married to Daniel T. Learned. On July 28, 1989 Barb gave birth to her only son who continued to be the focus of her life. Barb was preceded in death by her mother Shirley in 2004 as well as several aunts, cousins and uncles. Barbara is survived by her father Lawrence D. Smith of Bellaire; her beloved son Patrick L. Learned of Bellaire, Gregory M. (Annette Kowall) of Alden, Beverley J. (Mark) Zambawa of Charlevoix, Cheryl A. (Tom Bowen) Silva of Mancelona, sister-in-law Dina A. (Walt Wdowiki) Learned of Traverse City and her niece Chelsea S. Smith and her special grand niece Hana. Barbara lived with her boy friend Steven Stahl of Bellaire, a special relationship that lasted over seven years. Over the years Barbara enjoyed many hobbies. Barbara had an extensive collection of Knickknacks, pictures, stuffed animals, candles and Barb especially enjoyed making mop head dolls, much of which adorns her house. Cremation has taken place as per the family's request. There will be "A Celebration of Barb's Life", this will take place at Two p.m. Sat., Dec. 15, 2007 at the Calvary Baptist Church downtown Bellaire with the Pastor Joe Norris officiating. Refreshments will be served afterwards. In Lieu of flowers or gifts the family would ask that you give to a local food pantry of your choice in Barb's honor.
