Arthur William Miller III, 80, of Charlevoix, passed away on May 23, 2023 at home. He was born December 7, 1942, in Detroit, MI, the son of Arthur Jr. and Nora (Small) Miller.
Art was a hardworking man who loved his country. After high school, Art proudly served in the United States Army. Once he was out of the Army, he attended a trade school and achieved a certificate in stainless steel welding. He would go on to be a welder for the duration of his working days. Art loved the outdoors and going for rides on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was a member of the Rod and Gun club for many years and had a passion for animals; specifically, his dog Sasha. Art had a profound love for his family and he enjoyed spending time with them more than anything. He was a devout Catholic and his faith was very important to him. Art loved to laugh and enjoyed life.
Art is survived by his loving wife Judy, his step-brother, Bill Miller of Amhurst, VA two children, David Blake Miller (Patricia) of Suttons Bay, Stacie Ann (Miller) Woods, two grandchildren, Katherine Miller and Ashley (Miller) Arp
Preceding Art in death are his parents, Arthur Jr. and Nora (Small) Miller.
Art had many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
A visitation will take place from 11a.m. through 12 noon on Friday, June 2, followed by a Funeral Mass at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Charlevoix. Father Peter Wigton will be officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Charlevoix Humane Society.
Arrangements are in the care of the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
