Arthur Lynn Biehl, 96, lifelong resident of Mancelona, died peacefully, Thurs. Oct. 5, 2016. Arthur was born May 18, 1920 in Mancelona the second oldest son of Gerald and Laura Marie (Easter) Biehl. On Christmas Eve in 1938, he married the love of his life, Virginia Archer, who preceded him in death Nov. 27, 2015. Arthur was a farmer by trade and together with Virginia, they ran "Art's Turkey Farm" for many years. In his spare time Art enjoyed moose hunting and fishing. He loved being outside, spending time on his lawn, gardening, and being on the lake. Art was a member of the Alba Methodist Church, and on several area board of directors including Antrim County Road Commission, Antrim County Bank, and Top O' Michigan, all for over 30 years. After retirement, Art enjoyed spending his winters in Florida. The last 2 years Art lived at Heritage Haus in Bellaire, receiving kind, compassionate, loving care from Chyrle and her entire staff. Surviving Art are his children Shirley (Glen) Near of Saginaw, Jerry (Karen) Biehl of Rapid City, Kathy (Mikel) Schultz of Eagle River, AK, loving daughter-in-law Wanda Biehl (VanZile) of Three Rivers, siblings Robert Biehl, Helen Northrup, James (Darlene) Biehl, Mary Mehlberg, Betty Duerksen, Don Biehl, 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 20 plus one on the way great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Arthur (Artie) James Biehl, grandson Jerry Ronald Biehl, brothers Harold and Gerald Biehl, and his parents. Funeral services will be held Sat. Oct. 8, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Judy Zimpfer officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona. The family will receive friends Fri.
