Arlene Vahovick

Arlene J. Vahovick, 67, of Mancelona, passed away September 9, 2012 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Arlene was born November 21, 1944 in Mancelona, the daughter of Clarence and CeCelia (Czykyski) Milligan. Arlene loved anything to do with animals, especially horses and dogs. She was a people person and would help anyone out if she could. She attended St. Anthony Catholic Church for many years until she became ill where she was unable to attend. She was a very strong believer in the Catholic Faith. She is survived by three siblings, Daniel (Joyce) Milligan of Kalkaska, Clarence (Moon) Milligan of Traverse City and Faye (John) Leaman of East Jordan; a special sister in law, Pat Milligan; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Vahovick; parents; three brothers, Bill Milligan, Sam Milligan and Jim Milligan; and one sister, Frances Milligan. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Fr James Gardiner officiating. Her ashes will be buried with her husband and baby at a later date. The Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes is handling the arrangements.
