Ardis E. Cran, 89, of Mancelona, went home to be with the Lord February 19, 2013 at Cherry Hill Haven of Kalkaska. Ardis was born September 14, 1923 in Mancelona, the daughter of Elmer and Signa Johnson. Ardis was a lifelong Nazarene and currently a member of Kalkaska Church of the Nazarene. Ardis took great pride and was well known for her immaculate home. She was a good artist and many of her paintings still grace the walls of the family home. She is survived by four children, James (Sherry) Bailey of Mancelona, Gala (Sam) Eppstein of Breckenridge, CO, Elizabeth (Butch) Bartz of Clam River, Brenda (Boe) Freeburn of Lakewood, CO; siblings, Lyle Johnson of Traverse City, Milly (Mark) Fiedler of Mancelona, and Anne (Jim) Fiedler of Charlevoix; sister-in-law, Mavis Johnson of Bellaire; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce; siblings, Eleanor Fleet, Ward Johnson and Betty McClintock. Her first husband Lt. Louis James Bailey was lost in the South Pacific during World War II. Per her wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
