Anna Smith

Anna P. Smith, 94 of Eastport, died peacefully Wed. Nov. 13, 2013 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. She was born Mar. 17, 1919 the daughter of Oscar and Pearl (Shannon) Teboe. Anna lived in Eastport for over 70 years and was a long time member of the Eastport Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing the violin with her dad, watching storms on the beach and reading and reciting poetry. Anna loved spending time with her grandchildren and had a great sense of humor. On Sept. 27, 1938 in Charlevoix, she married John Smith Sr. who preceded her in death. Also preceding her were several siblings and her parents. Surviving Anna are her children John Jr. (Maxine) Smith of Eastport, Barbara (Jim) Lewis of Bellaire, Lynda (Mike) Conant of Central Lake, sister Beatrice Baker of Mio, grandchildren Jayme (Todd) Makowski of Bellaire, Ticia (Terry) Norman of Grayling, Carmen (Dave) Hartwig of Central Lake, Stacy Conant (Mark Schellie), Michael Ann (Jeremy) Ball both of Central Lake, as well as a great-granddaughter Cassi Makowski. Funeral services will be held Mon. Nov. 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Jerry Troyer officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Eastport. The family will receive friends Sun. Nov. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
