Angela "Angie" Lee Skinner of Bellaire passed away peacefully in her home on September 23, 2016 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Angie was born on July 24, 1953 in Southfield, MI, and moved to Bellaire with her parents and siblings in the summer of 1972. She spent most of her adult life in Bellaire. On August 10, 1974 she married Jerry D. Skinner, and together they had one daughter, Carrie Marie Skinner. They divorced on July 5, 1985 and remained life-long friends.
Angie trained in the 1970's as a bookkeeper and then as a medical assistant but worked in many other capacities throughout her life. Many of her friends may know her from her many years spent at the Bellaire Laundry. Angie treasured her daughter Carrie, and was quick to share her pride and affection for her. An avid animal lover, Angie adopted her faithful companion, Jenna, in 2010. She also enjoyed time spent with her sisters, family and friends. In her free time Angie enjoyed baking, doing crafts, and watching her favorite tv shows. Surviving are her daughter, Carrie (Dave DeCaro) Denali Park, AK, parents Marlene Trowbridge of Traverse City, MI Chester Trowbridge of Central Lake, MI, sisters Deborah Cave of West Hollywood,CA, Denise Moody of Mancelona, MI, Cindy Trowbridge of Bellaire, MI, Carol Johnston of Joshua, TX, brother Dave Trowbridge (Shelly Nelson) of Traverse City, MI, 13 nieces and nephews, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. Graveside services will take place on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire. A memorial will take place at the Bellaire Senior Center on Saturday, October 22nd from 12pm to 3pm. Lunch will be provided. Friends are welcome to bring a dessert to share. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the World Wildlife Fund or the Antrim County Animal Shelter. Arrangements are being handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
