Andrew Skoczylas

Andrew J. Skoczylas, age 71 of Cross Village, passed away on October 19, 2018 at his home.

Andrew was born on November 28, 1946 in Petoskey to the late Andrew J. and Therese V. (Droszcz) Skoczylas. He graduated from Harbor Springs High School in 1965 following which he enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1966 to 1969. After his discharge he went to Ferris State University and graduated in 1976 with a Bachelors Degree in accounting. With his degree he began his careet at Tacom Department of Army in Warren, Michigan where he worked until his retirement in 2012.

On June 12, 1976, he married Patricia L. Kellep who preceded him in death in 2015. Andrew was a member of the Holy Cross Church and the Association of Government Accountants.

Andrew is survived by his daughters, Julia (Paul) Magnan, Diane Skoczylas, Katie Alford and Patricia A. Skoczylas; sons, Andrew W. Skoczylas and Joseph A. Skoczylas; fiancé Cheryl Franklin;  grandchildren, Paul Magnan, Thomas Magnan, Zachery Tavenier, Adrianna Polini, Ava Schultz and Patricia Shultz and sister, Theresa Bernadette Heise.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

A memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Holy Cross Church, 6624 North Lake Shore Drive, Cross Village, MI with Fr. Joseph Blasko officiating. Interment with military honors  will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Cross Village.
