Andrew J. Hayden, 54, of Blue Lake Twp., Kalkaska County, died September 23, 2007 at his home with his daughter Julia and sister Sharon at his side after a short battle with cancer. Andrew was born on November 6, 1952 in Blue Lake Township, the son of Robert and Agatha (Gedman) Hayden. He enjoyed helping others, hunting, fishing, scuba diving, photography and playing pool. He served his community as a volunteer fire department member and assisted the deputy in township affairs. He is survived by two children, Julia (Kendall) Troyer of Watervliet, Matthew (Cindy) Hayden of Honolulu, HI; brother Robert Jr (Holly) Hayden of Albuquerque, NM; four sisters, Sharon (Robert) Hirzel of Royal Oak, Esther (Richard) Haugen of Lincoln City, OR, Judy (Al) Allard of Harrison, Shirley (Roy) Summerfield of Vasser; four grandchildren, Tyler, Mattie, Ellie and Ezra as well as a grandson on the way. He had many loving nieces and nephews, however he enjoyed the youthfulness of Haley and Hayden Hirzel. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Susie. Andrew was preceded in death by his companion, a mans best friend, "Meila", his wife, Peggy Kiel, his parents, and nephew Travis Vickerman. Services will be held at the Blue Lake Township Hall, Saturday, September 29, 2007. Memorial contributions may be made to his family, to continue his love of gardening or to Munson Hospice for the wonderful care they blessed him with.
